I'm slowing climbing back in to the saddle. School is winding down, and so is my orchestra schedule. I tried to run on Wednesday afternoon when the rain was on its way. Got the running clothes on (that's half the battle) and started walking down the street to warm up. Well, it starts to rain as I'm making my way towards Spillway Rd. I thought it was the wall of rain that I saw on the weather radar between Jackson and Vicksburg before leaving the house; so I start back towards home not wanting to get drenched by the time I reach Campfire Circle. I get back to the house and the rain stops. It's only a spot shower and the wall of rain didn't hit until an hour later. I was so mad at myself.
It's hard for me to realize that I have 17 weeks till my half marathon in California, and a little over eight months until Disney World, so I guess shouldn't beat myself up too much. I did get out yesterday and do 3.2 miles. The weather was great. There was a lot of people out walking their dogs. The honeysuckle smelled wonderful. It was nice to get out and clear my head of school junk.
Two things I can't do without when I wog: I love my Garmin 201. It has everything I need except a heart monitor. I'm not that in to keeping up with my heart rate anyway. And I love my slvr phone with my tunes on it. It was great having a cell phone and mp3 player in one during the marathon last year. Well, it's late and I'm planning on finally running with the group tomorrow. See you all tomorrow.
