Summer Bum

Been off the wagon ever since the 12 mile run. Things got busy with the B'ham trip and wind symphony rehearsals and concerts. Plus, I couldn't make myself get out of bed to run with the 5:30am bunch. I'm such a bum, at times. The angel and devil on the shoulders really hit me this morning.

Angel: "Go run. ".
Devil: "No, go back to sleep."
Angel: "No, come on, you know you'll feel better if you'll just get the running clothes on and get out there."
Devil: "Nah, go back to sleep. All you've got is the half marathon in a little over two months, then nothing until January. You've got plenty of time."

Well, the angel won this morning. Got out around 7am and wogged 3 1/2 miles. I felt like: Those who snooze, lose. I've lost some endurance, but it still felt good doing the 2:1 interval. Hope all of you have a good half-marathon. Natalie and I leave Friday night for B'ham and then we head for the mountains of North Carolina on Saturday. Keep puttin one foot in front of the other.

Way to go! I'd rather not be running at 530 am myself but I'm always glad I did it when I finished. Then sometimes I go back home and take a little nap after I bathe. I got to work so much earlier than usual today that I thought it was about 9 pm when it was only 530 pm!!! I've been up forever already. Ugggh. We will miss you this weekend but have a great time.

We missed you today! Carol, Jody and I WALKED the whole way today. Do you believe it. Hope you have a good trip this weekend.
The wind symphony definitely messed up my training this week, but I thoroughly enjoyed playing with you all. Hope they keep my number!

Missed you!

I keep finding more "connections" of people we both know!!!

"Sprayberry" at Hinds told me the other day... I know another Lisa Davis.... & I said yes... I bet I know her too!

Then I saw Keith Moffet yesterday and asked him.... sure enough... he knows you too! His dad was my preacher growing up and we all hung out together in the big city of Raymond! His parents celebrated 50 years with a party yesterday at our church. His dad actually preached yesterday too, but I had to cater at a church in Port Gibson and missed that.

Someone else too, but I can't remember who now.

Later! namesake!!!

Hope you had a great vacation in North Carolina. I was wondering why I hadn't seen you at some of the Sat. runs and I miss seeing you, but you have the confidence of already finishing a marathon which probably helps when you decide not to get out of be in the morning for a group run or for training. Hope to see you at one of the long runs--it helps to have the pros there for encouragement.
